Team Triumph-SC at Assen

Triumph-SC went to the weekend’s fourth round of the Supersport World Championship at Assen with high hopes of a good result but. despite a good start, Garry McCoy found himself boxed in at the first corner and was then forced to pull out of the race with an electrical gremlin in the early laps Team-mate Ilario Dionisi was closed in the same group of his team-mate in the first ten laps but managed to fight and close the gap to gain his first world championship point for a 15th place finish.
Ilario Dionisi commented: “I was forced to stay behind in the group for too long and was blocked by some slower riders. When I worked my way through I quickly made up some places and I’m happy to earn a championship point.”

In the Superstock 600 race, Scottish rider Robbie Stewart improved upon his debut performance but missed out on a points-scoring finish by only a few hundredths of second. He said: “I rode the entire race fighting with more experienced riders, but the crash at the first corner after the start did put us out of the games.”
