Triumph Triple Challenge gets set for Silverstone
Thursday, May 22, 2008

There were two great races that entertained the BSB crowds at Brands Hatch just over a week ago. Now, the action will turn to the Northamptonshire Grand Prix venue this weekend.
Last time out Lance Carey took double victories in the Michelin Young Guns category and Mark Cheetham in the TDG Cup class. Carey’s wins pushed him into joint third place in the championship standings, alongside Reece Rothwell. Lance will no doubt be heading into Silverstone with a smile on his face and will hope to continue his run of results.
Josh Wainwright had kept up consistent form at every round this season and now lies second in the table. He will be aiming to repeat his opening round victory at Donington Park around the fast sweeps of Silverstone. However, it is Mark Cringle who currently holds a 33-point lead after a series of strong results. He will definitely be the one to watch over the course of the weekend as he fights to keep his place at the front.
Cheetham’s double win has moved him slightly further ahead of his main TDG Cup rival, Jack Sim, who is now 17-points behind. Brazilian Rhalf Lo Turco has shown impressive pace at every round so far, but has been beaten to the top step by Cheetham and Sim, who have taken every victory between them so far.
The riders will take to the circuit on Saturday for qualifying and the superpole event, with the two main races on Sunday.
