The official end of the season was the run on Sunday 24 September, but some hardy souls wanted the ride outs to continue. After a few hasty phone calls and text messages a ride out was organised for Sunday 22 October. Three bikes turned out for this trip, two Bonneville T100’s and a Thunderbird. We braved the rain and headed out to the harbour at Maryport and stopped for a well-deserved cup of coffee and a natter about future events. The general feeling was that we should make good use of the unseasonably good weather and try and plan as much as we can before the weather breaks. After the photo session we headed up the coast to Silloth and then back to Carlisle via Wigton and Kirkbide. A trip of 70 miles and three hours easy riding went down a treat.

The Lakes Run, September 06
The last run of the season saw the R.A.T. Pack venture into the Lake District for the first time of the year. We had avoided the main tourist part of the year on purpose but there were still plenty of day-trippers around who were not put off by the poor weather. The group ended up at Bowness on Windermere for refreshments then back home to Carlisle via the Kirkstone Pass and a nice run along the shore of Ullswater. On the way back the sun decided to shine to give a perfect end to a great day.
Fell bottom run, April 06
The second run of the season took place on Sunday 23 April in glorious sunshine. The good weather brought a very good turnout of riders for the run with people coming over from the west coast of Cumbria, from the south of Scotland and Northumbria as well as from Carlisle, where the group is based. There was a good turnout of Triumph machines from the new scrambler with the T100, Tiger, Daytona and Sprint ST all being represented. There were 16 machines in total and 18 people enjoyed the day.
This run took the riders along the fells of North Eastern Cumbria from Brampton to Appleby, where we stopped for a breather, then on to Orton and Shap before heading home to Carlisle. The group photograph was taken in the entrance to the park adjoining the River Eden. This area of Cumbria was something new for many of the riders and several intend to go back and enjoy the town of Appleby and the roads around the area at a more leisurely pace later in the season.
