Dai had a merry crowd of Triumph owners arrive midday for the long awaited trip to the Emerald Isle. We had 10 bikes, all couples so the boys had to behave!
Taking the 14.30 ferry from Fishguard, the crossing was smooth and we soon arrived in Rosslare where luckily the weather was dry.
We made good time to Bunclody, and off-loaded the machines and booked into The Carlton Millrace Hotel, Carrigduff, Bunclody.
We all checked in and freshened up, met in the bar for 8ish, for some blackstuff and a deserved meal.
Saturday was up early for breakfast and away on a 140 mile ride through the Wicklow mountains, and through the Wicklow Gap to Avoca (where they filmed Ballykissangel). After an enjoyable walk around and a quick pint in the local, it was back to the hotel for a swim in the hotels superb leisure facilities. At 8.30pm the group sat down for an organised dinner, and shocking everyone, Dai bought all the drinks for the night! 4am finish…..crawling back to the rooms.
Sunday we gathered for breakfast, and noticed the weather had deteriorated into a horrible drizzle, so we decided to catch the early Fast Cat back to Fishguard. Talk on the ferry was all about the next trip to France in June 2007.
Swansea Motorcycle Show, September 2006
Garlands Motorcycles were again in support of the 2006 Swansea Motorcycle Show organised by Roger Gale of Swansea Council.
Massive crowds were there again due to the fantastic weather and the setting is superb, at the newly refurbished Dylan Thomas Square, right next to the marina. A large entry of motorcycles (over 150) this year with many of Garlands Triumph customers in attendance. Dai came away with a prize again for the mint and stunning Model N Triumph 1927 and Jason won best modern bike! and we both appeared in the local South Wales Evening Post (again). Garlands Triumph customers were again in force with a cracking selection Triumphs.
