Latest News:

What a great summer we have had for riding motorbikes! Since the last update we have had a busy spell, with runs every month and a couple of bigger events. In June we held our second annual Highland weekend, once again very ably organised by Eddie Hanratty, who also very ably organised scorching weather for the weekend. Great roads, scenery and company are fast making this one of the highlights of the year. Why not join us for it next year? Thanks are also due to Gordon and Tina who organised a closing barbecue for the weekend.
The first weekend in September was our second factory visit of the year. Fifteen of us rode down on the Sunday in mostly good weather, taking the A7 as far as the border the cutting across Hartside and Shap before picking up the M6 just after Kendall. The group got split up coming through the traffic hell that is Birmingham, but all made it safely to the overnight stop, the Greyhound Inn in Lutterworth, about fifteen minutes from the factory. We must have had a good night there, because there were some sorry looking faces in the morning (hello Mark) and a few breakfasts left uneaten However those who could still focus very much enjoyed the tour.
As for the rest of it, well we have had good attendances on our runs to Kielder, Glenshee, Inverary and Hartside, averaging around 15 bikes, ranging from Bonnevilles to Rockets and Daytonas.
Still to come this year we have our final run on October 15th, to the Scottish borders, and a still to be confirmed Christmas night out.

Previous News:

At Edinburgh Triumph we have got off to a cracking start with our events and ride outs for 2006.
On the evening of 9 February, Edinburgh Triumph opened its doors for the first time to invited guests prior to the public opening on the 11 February. Bruno, Mark and Steve from Triumph all attended, along with about a hundred guests, and our new first floor corporate showroom was widely admired.
R.A.T. events proper got underway on 26 March, with a run out to the Scottish borders, attended by about fifteen bikes, which took in an interesting, varied and above all, dry, route, covering about 150 mile of great roads.
April saw the popular Tayside run, which attracted 20 bikes, with a great mix of bikes, including Daytona 650/675/955s, Sprints and Speed Triples of all ages, as well as the America, Speedmaster and Rocket cruisers. An excellent lunch was had in Dunkeld on a good day, spoiled only by some rain on the return leg. I promised not to mention Graham's navigation here.............oops!
The first of May saw the first of two visits to the factory for us this year (the other is at the start of September). Fifteen of us on thirteen bikes made the pilgrimage to Hinckley, via a night at the excellent Greyhound Inn in Lutterworth, where I can confirm that the food is still superb and the bar still well stocked (though less so than before we arrived!). For first time visitors the factory was an awesome sight; for those of us who had been before there had been enough changes to keep the interest, as well as first sight of some new colours.
